TATSU
Japanese Drums / Composition / Arrangement
Born into a traditional Japanese drumming family, he founded a professional Japanese music group at the age of 17 and has been active in Japan and abroad as a lyricist, composer and general producer. After becoming a soloist, he performed for a period of time with a group of Japanese performing arts specialists led by Tetsuro Naito (Tetsuro Naito was a former member of the wadaiko group Kodo) on various stages.
He is skilled at creating music using DAW software, and has participated in the music production and video for the music video of “IKAZUCHI” (LIGHTNING OF JAPANESE TRANCE), an entertainment project by the world-renowned artists “CUBE”, “KAMUI” and “Yoshiyuki”. He is also active as a composer, composing, arranging, and performing in musicals and providing music for various taiko groups.
Inheriting the traditional taiko drumming technique “NORAUCHI” from Fukui Prefecture, where he was born and raised, he has developed a unique style that incorporates contemporary musical models.
He was involved in the development of Roland’s TAIKO-1 (Electronic Taiko Percussion), which is scheduled to be released in the autumn of 2020, and his comments have been posted on the website. [ https://www.roland.com/jp/promos/roland_taiko/voice/tatsu/ ]
HARU
Lyrics and Vocals / Composition / Arrangement
HARU writes songs for famous Japanese performers, such as Mika Nakashima, CHEMISTRY, Maaya Sakamoto, Little Glee Monster, as well as for commercial advertising. HARU is also a talented vocalist, appearing on many compilation albums, and was selected for LOVE PSYCHEDELICO’s performance at BUDOKAN as a backing vocalist. Mahoroba’s lyrics are stylised with a “read aloud” feel, in part because HARU’s grandfather was a witch doctor, and his philosophies and teachings greatly influenced her world view and performance.
